Moving an aquarium requires careful planning, livestock protection, and proper reinstallation. FishGuys relocates freshwater, saltwater, and reef aquariums while helping reduce the risk to your livestock, equipment, property, and system.

Our relocation schedule is primarily reserved for FishGuys Membership clients and existing service customers. Select new-client moves may be accepted based on the aquarium, location, timing, and technician availability.

We handle local residential and commercial moves, including many aquariums up to 200 gallons.

How It Works

1. Tell Us About the Move

Send photos of the aquarium, equipment, livestock, current location, and new installation area.

2. Review the Plan and Estimate

We evaluate access, travel distance, aquarium condition, staffing needs, water requirements, and any equipment or setup changes.

3. Breakdown and Transport

Our team prepares the livestock and equipment, breaks down the aquarium, and transports the system to the new location.

4. Reinstallation and Support

We reinstall the aquarium, restart the equipment, check operation, refill the system, and acclimate the livestock. FishGuys can also provide ongoing Aquarium Maintenance after the move.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you move aquariums for new clients?

Our relocation schedule is primarily reserved for Membership clients and existing service customers. Select new-client moves may be available depending on the aquarium’s size, livestock, location, timing, and project requirements.

How much does it cost to move an aquarium?

Pricing depends on the aquarium’s size, livestock, equipment, distance, access, staffing needs, and the amount of water and preparation required. FishGuys provides an estimate before the move is scheduled.

Can you guarantee that every fish or coral will survive the move?

Aquarium relocation always carries some risk, especially with sensitive livestock, older aquariums, long travel times, or unstable systems. FishGuys uses careful handling and acclimation procedures to reduce that risk, but livestock survival cannot be guaranteed in every situation.

Can you store or board livestock during a longer move?

Temporary holding or boarding may be available depending on the livestock, space, timing, and project requirements. Availability is confirmed during the estimate process.
